Even before the enactment of the relevant legislation (Legislative Decree 50/2016 “Public Contracts Code” and Ministerial Decree Infr. e Tras. prot. n. 560/2017), STAIN Engineering S.r.l. had already developed its engineering services using BIM. The entire design cycle, from preliminary concept to construction design, is carried out using BIM methodology and tools.
Stain Engineering s.r.l. invested early on in transforming its technical structure for BIM, involving all team members in the process. This has given us the ability to tackle the entire project seamlessly using the BIM method, improving quality and optimizing timelines while avoiding issues associated with projects developed using a mixed CAD/BIM methodology.
Stain Engineering S.r.l. has an in-house BIM design team staffed by personnel certified according to UNI 11337-7:2018.
In line with constant technological innovation, STAIN develops and utilizes internally developed applications designed to address the issues inherent in the BIM workflow. The company has embarked on an innovative path to support and complement commercial software, developing BIM applications that enable the generation of the same outputs directly from the Model, largely automatically, which would otherwise require numerous steps.
The tool allows for the automatic quantification of works, equipment, and materials as they are added to the multidimensional model, linking the calculated quantities to public price lists and catalogs or referencing other sources. The system enables real-time monitoring of construction costs. The output generated by quantity computation and cost estimation can be directly managed in Primus, STR, or Excel, splitting it by work categories or WBS.
In our pursuit of constant innovation, we offer an innovative approach to integrated design, multidisciplinary coordination, and client involvement.
Our method combines the efficiency of Building Information Modeling (BIM) with advanced virtual reality technologies for optimized sharing and visualization of the complete project. Using VR provides a superior level of interaction and readability of project information models compared to the combination of traditional 2D screens, mouse, and keyboard.
This approach has also accelerated the review and decision process, enabling real-time visualizations and a deeper understanding of the project. We provide training and support, ensuring effective platform use for all.
